1. Information about the procurement

ICT Solution: AI for natural disaster prevention

The innovation procurement project of Information Society (INFOSOC) aims to obtain better prediction models for natural disasters based on real sensor and historical data. In coordination with the Ministry of Climate Crises and Civic Protection and the Fire Brigade, the identification of natural disaster prevention needs focuses on forest and urban fires and flood early detection and prevention, and voice interaction with the Geek government portal.

Information Society (INFOSOC) is the main digital systems and services contracting authority for the Public Sector in Greece, supervised by the Ministry of Digital Governance. INFOSOC procurers on behalf of Greek public sector administrations and organisations at a national level (mainly for central government and affiliated entities). INFOSOC also leads the Public Innovation Procurement & Investment Support in GR digiGOV-innoHUB, the Greek EDIH for Public Sector innovation. The Hub’s strategic priority is to support the development and deployment of a new generation of public services utilizing advanced digital technologies (AI, 5G, HPC, IoT, Cloud, Cybersecurity), by mobilising public sector organisations (PSOs) and entrepreneurial actors.
