The eafip Workshop for public procurers in the environmental sector (ministries, regional and local authorities, agencies, public utility entities, etc.) took place in Tallinn, Estonia, on the 18th and 19th October 2017. The eafip Workshop was situated at the interface between innovation procurement and circular procurement to build synergies and to better embed circular economy concepts. The eafip Workshop comprised sessions from the Conference on Innovation Procurement and the Circular Procurement Congress:
- As part of the Conference on Innovation Procurement:
- Panel discussion on the link between innovation and green procurement gave an introduction into the topic (15:15-16:15 on 18th October).
- As part of the Circular Procurement Congress:
- Tackling public sector challenges through smart combination of innovation and green public procurement (11:15-12:30 on 19th October). This parallel session looked into how circular procurement can lead to innovation and how innovative procurement can support the circular procurement process.
- Additionally, eafip organised two round table discussions during the Market Lounge Sessions (14:00-15:35 on 19th October), provisionally:
– Open market consultations in innovation and green public procurements
– How to build your business case and prepare the life cycle costing in the innovation procurements in the circular economy context

The Conference on Innovation Procurement took place on 17th and 18th October 2017 in Tallinn, Estonia. Its aims were capacity building, experience sharing and networking about major ICT-related innovation procurement initiatives across Europe and to facilitate networking between stakeholders to discuss new ideas, initiatives and funding opportunities.

The Circular Procurement Congress took place on 18th and 19th October 2017 in Tallinn, Estonia. The Congress provided a unique opportunity to explore the latest developments and thinking on circular procurement and on mainstreaming circular procurement.
